The Gov’t doesn’t care about us – JHS students preparing for BECE lament

Students at the La Salem Presby Basic School in the Greater Accra Region have claimed the government has neglected them and the signs are conspicuously on the wall ahead of the commencement of the Basic Education Certificate Exams (BECE).
The 2021 BECE test is set to begin on Monday, November 15, 2021, and end on Friday, November 19, 2021. The kids said even though they lacked in these subjects Ga, ICT, or BDT, they are still going to be tested on these subjects.
Susana Abena Turkson, a class prefect, told Citi TV in an interview aside from the fact that they lack expertise in these subjects, their school is in a bad shape and doesn’t give the right ambiance for the teaching and learning process.
“We haven’t had any ICT lessons since June since the national service teacher who was assisting us disappeared somewhere along the way. We haven’t had French lessons since kindergarten “Susana went on to say.
She further added; “We have the impression that the government is unconcerned about us. Our parents pay taxes on a regular basis, yet the funds are not used to meet our needs as they should be.”
