Global Evangelical Church, Moderator endorses Anti-LGBQT+Bill
The Moderator of Global Evangelical Church, Rt . Rev. Dr. S. K. Ofori in a short video, speaks on proper sexual human rights and Ghanaian family value bills before parliament as the head of the church.
The moderator on behalf of the synod committee endorses Anti-LGBQT=Bill.
“Ghana is a special Nation, if you look at the Anthem the first word is God, if you look at the pledge the last word is God this implies this nation Ghana has chosen God as a leader and if we have chosen God we should live by the steps of God”
He further said the concept of LGBTQ violates the principles of God and since Ghanaians have chosen God then they should do the needful.
According to reports in the Ghana News Media “Advocating for LGBQ+ rights would also be illegal under the bill, with activists facing [between] five and 10 years of jail sentences,” the reports said. The penalties for self-identification and advocacy are as strong or stronger than the five years prescribed for consensual same-sex physical acts.
