A CEO of a mortgage startup has reportedly fired 900 workers just a few weeks to Christmas and this has got much thinking.
The CEO identified as Vishal Garg is said to have sacked nine percent of Better.com’s workforce during his Wednesday webinar.
Before spewing what he had to say, he warned the staff members that something terrible was is coming hence they should embrace themselves for it.
He said, “I come to you with not great news, the market has changed, as you know, and we have to move with it in order to survive so that hopefully, we can continue to thrive and deliver on our mission”
The 43 year old CEO added that “This isn’t news that you’re going to want to hear. But ultimately it was my decision.
“And I wanted you to hear from me. It’s been a really, really challenging decision to make.”
As he didn’t hold back, Mr. Garg stated that he would be firing 15 percent of the workforce but instead of waiting for the Christmas festive season to be over, he spewed that he’s sacking them.
He said “This isn’t news that you’re going to want to hear… if you’re on this call, you are part of the unlucky group that is being laid off, Your employment here is terminated effective immediately”
